AgLanta Food Forest at Grant Park

AgLanta is partnering with the Grant Park Conservatory and the Atlanta Parks Department to convert 2.5 acres of underutilized parkland into a food forest using permaculture principles. The site will feature multi-tier canopy trees (pear, persimmon, chestnut), mid-story fruit trees, berry shrubs, and native pollinator hedgerows. Five community planting days are planned for spring 2026, with ongoing stewardship by Grant Park neighbors and Atlanta Audubon Society volunteers. The food forest will supply fresh produce to the nearby Grant Park Farmers Market and a weekly neighborhood share program. Tree planting focuses on species adapted to Atlanta's clay soils with high climate resilience.
