Edgewood Ave. Native Tree Corridor

The Edgewood Community Improvement League, working with Glass Farm Nursery and the City of Atlanta Bureau of Planning, is planting a continuous native tree corridor along Edgewood Avenue's commercial strip and adjacent residential blocks. The project replaces 30 dead or dying street trees and adds 65 new native trees — red maple, sweetbay magnolia, and American holly — to restore the tree canopy on a street where coverage has dropped below 10%. Glass Farm Nursery is providing nursery stock sourced from local seed stock to ensure genetic adaptability. The corridor will provide shade for the Edgewood BID's outdoor market and improve walkability for the surrounding neighborhood.
